A/Prof Paul Soeding

Dr Paul Soeding is a specialist anaesthetist, and Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists.He completed his anaesthetic training in Australia and overseas, including Addenbrookes Hospital Cambridge UK. He has been a member of the Melbourne Anaesthetic Group since 1994.

His expertise is adult anaesthesia, particularly surgery involving neurosurgery, cardiothoracic anaesthesia, regional anaesthesia and echocardiography. He has a continuing interest in biomedical research, and is a Principal Research Fellow in the Department of Pharmacology, University of Melbourne. Professor Soeding has multiple published works in the areas of cardiac and regional ultrasound, orthopaedic beachchair surgery, and anaesthetic pharmacology. He has presented at national and international meetings.

He is currently a mentor for PhD and postgraduate clinicians, and is actively involved in undergraduate teaching. He has provided voluntary medical care to patients in Timor and the South Pacific.
